Looking Ahead: Fire Moon

A return to the default life for those of us active in BURN2, the virtual regional of Burning Man, brings with it effects similar to those experienced by the Burners who attended That Thing in the Desert back in August. While that event only occurs once per year, BURN2 hosts several smaller events between the annual “Big Burns” in October.
The Lamplighters that collaborate with BURN2 are also looking forward. At BURN2, the staff have been putting together teams for their next event called Fire Moon, which is a decompression event bringing in the first New Moon of new year and coinciding with the Chinese New Year (Year of the Fire Rooster). Save these dates: January 27-29, 2017.
At our next meeting on 4th December, 10am SLT as usual, we will talk about what we can do to participate in that event, among other things. Members of The Lamplighters in SL are definitely asked to attend, if available. Location is our usual, somewhere on the BURN2 playa on Deep Hole in SL.
If you have any questions or are unable to attend but would like to participate in some way, please drop a notecard on iSkye Silverweb in world. She will address your questions or share your interest in participating at the next meeting.
Meanwhile, remember that the Lamplighters collaborate very closely with the BURN2 event planning team. You are encouraged to read the recent posts on BURN2’s website to learn more about the Fire Moon event, and to contribute to the poster contest! They are still putting together their event team, so if you are interested please do let them know. If you cannot attend their weekly Thursday 9pm SLT planning meetings, you are not excluded – notes of the weekly meetings can be viewed upon request.
